Property - Yards
Our front and back yards are not typical, since after all, this is a ranch in the country and not a house in the city. From the front of our house to our front property line is just under 1/2 mile, and just under 3/4 of a mile to the road -- which is certainly unlike any front yard in the city... |

Our front yard is to the right of the driveway, but it might as well be the whole countryside between the house and Harrisville Road (smile). |
| Since the area from the front of our house to the driveway is only a couple hundred feet, we call this area our "front yard". |

In the beginning ... Here was the front of the house before it was painted and before we removed the bushes to re-grade around the foundation so water runs AWAY from the foundation instead of just sitting there. |

In October of 1999, we transplanted the trees that were too close to the house, one of which is shown here on the right. The one on the left was the only tree in the front yard. The bird feeder and bath are also new additions. The silver post between the trees was to hang the bird feeder on, but it didn't work right. It's now gone. |

In November of 1999, we had the house repainted and also had begun the foundation re-grading work. Talk about looking BARREN! |

In the spring of 2000, we planted a whole bunch of young Spruce trees that we hope will grow into big strong trees to give us some shade and a wind break.  (Sorry for the poor photo. I'll get a better one on the next sunny day.) |
| Our "back yard" is full of all kinds of different things. It contains an over-sized 3-car garage, a burried 1,600 gallon concrete water cistern, the water well, a 20 foot by 40 foot veggie garden, the barn, and also the Corral/Pen. |

This is what we call a BIG back yard (big smile)! |

In addition to planting a whole bunch of young Spruce trees in our front yard, we also planted a few rows of them in the back, to provide a wind break from the cold North winds. |
| More yard photos to come as the year progresses. |
